"like new item" is actually worn out and doesn't work
I recently purchased a pool filter pump that was listed as "like new condition in an opened box". When I received the item it was missing parts. No big deal as I had those parts from my original pump so I installed the pump (which I knew was previously used when I opened the box) and plugged it in. NOTHING! It doesn't work! After closer inspection I found that the pump was actually worn out and was in fact not "like new"!
I contacted the seller and got nowhere as the seller argued that it was new and still in the plastic, which it was not. After some time of back and forth seller stated that they were willing to refund if I shipped the pump back to them. My problem is this; Why should it be on me to ship it back at my cost after I already spent $133 for a junk item? If I did ship it back I doubt that I would ever see a refund as this seller has already proven themselves as dishonest. What can I do to get my money back?

If you received an item that is not as described, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.
