lieing buyer
Summary: comics-scifi-collectibles provides guidance to fancherkidron, who is dealing with an issue related to a "lying buyer" on eBay. comics-scifi-collectibles explains that while fancherkidron may have a no return policy, it's overridden by the eBay Money Back Guarantee if the item is reported as 'not as described.' They advise fancherkidron to accept the return and issue a return shipping label to avoid further complications such as not getting the seller's fees back, receiving a defect, and having the buyer keep the item. They also clarify that seller protection policies allow some actions against abusive buyers if specific conditions are met, but fancherkidron does not qualify due to not being a top-rated seller or offering free returns.
I had a. Buyer by 4. Glass cups. And they arrived on schedule. But they said that two of them were broken. I asked for proof and they sent me 4 pictures, but the pictures didn't look realistic. And I couldn't tell who's AI or not. I asked for a video and they have yet to send me one. This buyer's already been a pain And has not been appropriate whatsoever. I need advice on what to do This morning they asked for a refund, but I still have not gotten the video of them examining the broken glassware.

Mentor4 months ago@fancherkidron I understand that this is frustrating.
A no return policy doesn't mean no refunds. Keep in mind that your return policy is only for buyers remorse returns.... changed mind doesn't fit, etc. The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrules your returns policy.
If the buyer files a refund request SAYING that the item is not as described then you need to accept the return and issue the return shipping label.
If you do not accept the return willingly then the buyer can ask eBay to step in and force a refund. You do not get your seller's fees back, you get a defect and the buyer may be allowed to keep the item.
If the buyer abuses the eBay MBG in some way then you can report them but it doesn't get your money back:

Sellers have protection for return abuse if they offer FREE RETURN shipping on their listings OR if they are a Top Rated seller and offer 30 days or greater returns. The seller can then reduce the refund amount by up to 50% if the buyer sends a different item or somehow reduces the value of the item.

Mentor4 months ago@fancherkidron. The top rated is only mentioned as part of who qualifies for seller protection. Since you are not top rated or offer free returns you can't reduce the refund amount by 50% .
You need to accept the return and issue the return shipping label. If you don't then eBay will force a refund from your account, you will get a defect and the buyer will be allowed to keep the glasses.
