leaving feedback for an order that the seller cancelled
Seller cancelled the order due to "not in stock'. eBay keeps sending me notices to leave feedback when the Item was refunded, never shipped, never received.

Mentor2 years agoThe reminders probably came from eBay, not the seller. You can opt out of that here: https://commspreferences.ebay.com/commsprefs

If the reminders can from eBay and not the seller, please disregard my response about contacting the seller. Just don't leave any feedback at all if you don't want to leave less than positive.

OP2 years agoSorry-- I got you involved again. I was trying to appease the recent email from eBay asking for me to select the best help response. I thought it would then end the community thread. By doing this it triggered another helpful user here to suggest changing my preferences on feedback messages which I was not aware of. So in the end it was the final help I needed. Thanks much to all who offered their help & I'm so pleased you did!

You can unmark the best answer and mark another one if you like. You'll find the un-mark option by clicking that little black dropdown arrow at the right corner of the answer you marked as best. 😊

Leaving feedback is voluntary. It's entirely up to you whether to leave it or not.
How many messages have you received?

OP2 years agoThanks for your interest, it is appreciated. I have received two requests. I remember when refunds were issued that there was no request to leave feedback in the past. I could only leave a disappointing feedback in this situation, so I'd rather just forget it. Think that's OK?

It's absolutely OK - leaving feedback is voluntary.
Sellers who request it are pretty short-sighted. No seller wants less than positive feedback! 😊
(If you're up for some mischief, you could message the seller, tell him you were disappointed in the transaction, let him know you were purposely skipping feedback, and ask if he would prefer your honest feedback or none at all. Might make him think...)
