Leaving eBay
After 20 years I will likely be leaving eBay. This is primarily due to the ridiculous payment system that’s in place. Not that long ago the funds our sales would be immediately deposited into PayPal accounts, and the fees would be settled later. My funds are on hold because I simply requested another shipping label and need to wait for a refund of the first?! Your customer service reps have absolutely no idea how the current payment process works. They just repeat back the same information that’s available to me. Far to many platforms exists for me to sell my items to continue to put up with eBay’s foolishness.

many sellers 'get it' and miss the old paypal system, but it is what it is.
things are drastically different with ebay now.
why don't u keep ur listings here and list on some other platforms too. that's what many of us have had to resort to.
Good Luck with whatever decision u make.

Mentor2 years agoWhen you void a shipping label, it's USPS that refunds your money, not eBay. It takes 14-21 days so they can ensure the label has not entered into the system after it's voided.
eBay Managed Payments has been in place now for a few years. As a new/infrequent seller, you are subject to payment holds (just like it was when PayPal was the payment processor). If you sell consistently for a period of time, the payment holds will be lifted. It will still take a couple of days to see your payments in your checking account, but most sellers don't think that's any biggie...

You're free to leave eBay and sell anywhere you like, but most marketplaces use the same or a similar payment processor as eBay does, so you won't see much difference (except their fees are generally higher then eBay's).

OP2 years agoIf it is USPS that does the refund, why would Ebay put my funds on hold for said voided label? That's exactly what I was told was occuring by an Ebay representative. I have my account setup for on demand payouts, so waiting for a payment to appear in my checking account is not an issue or even relevant to my situation. Also, I didn't need your permission to leave Ebay. Thanks fanboy.

Mentor2 years agoNo one here works for eBay - we are members like yourself. Many times an answer is not only specific to the OP, but includes information that may be of benefit to others with similar questions. Just trying to help... I'm sorry if my response what not you were looking for.
When you void a label, you receive a message from eBay to let you know that USPS is processing your request. If you paid for the label out of your funds, I would expect the label refund to go back to your pending funds. If you paid for the label through PayPal, the refund would go back to PayPal (or the funding source you used through PayPal). For example, I pay for my labels with my credit card through PayPal, so my label refunds go back to my credit card - not to my pending funds.
