Late shipment rate
I always print the labels for my sales on time and request a package pickup from home. I'm in jeopardy of losing my Top Rated Status even though the label was printed, and tracking uploaded on time. Still, the substitute carrier had forgotten twice to pick up my packages. I don't think it is fair to be punished for someone else's mistake. I am a senior and don't drive so the option of a request to pick up my package is very important to me, but I have no control if the mail carrier forgets to pick it up, and I end up losing in the long run.

Mentor2 years agoYou do have control, and eBay isn't going to make an exception for you because your carrier didn't come. It's your responsibility to get those packages scanned. So here's what to do...
If the carrier doesn't pick up, then call your post office and speak with the carrier supervisor and have him send someone back out to do the pickup (and hopefully do a better job of training).
I had a period of time when my regular carrier was out on medical leave for several months and had different carriers every day. It was hit or miss who would pick up and several times the sub didn't pick up. So I would wait until 4:30, and if a carrier hadn't come, I'd call. Finally the problem was solved (I'm sure the supervisor was tired of talking to me all the time).
If you don't have luck with the supervisor, then ask to speak with the postmaster. If you don't have luck with the postmaster, then ask to speak with the consumer advocate.

OP2 years agoThank you very much for your response. I filed a complaint with the Postal Service regarding this issue and was called by the local supervisor who gave me her direct phone number to call if the issue arises again. The problem with that is no one answers the phone, but I will keep in mind the process to get this problem resolved by contacting the Postmaster, and the consumer advocate.
