Laptop scam
How do I get help with a seller that totally scammed me. He listed an i7 laptop which I purchased, he sent me a POS i5 machine that was total crap. Apologized up and down, asked me to send the i5 machine back to him. He then relists the SAME MACHINE I BOUGHT before he acknowledges that he received the i5 machine back. He says that he's sorry but he will refund my money. Total scam. He should have to send me the computer that he sold me. There seems to be no recourse through Ebay, you can't contact anyone. He will probably refund my money, take someone else's money, send them an i5 POS and hope they are too stupid to notice.

Mentor3 years agoThat new listing looks like an I7 and ok to me. So nothing to report now. Since you received something else you report it by opening a Return Request for an Item Not as Described to get a refund.

OP3 years agoIt won't let me report the item. The only matching report reason is for duplicate items. And when I put the item numbers in, it won't accept them because the first listing number is no longer active.

OP3 years agoAlso, I haven't gotten the refund yet. But, he received the laptop he sent me back today, BEFORE he relisted the laptop that I already purchased. He should not be able to do this.

Mentor3 years agoDid you open a Return Request for an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED, and used the prepaid return label ebay sent you? If so, and no refund by the fourth day, go back to the request and ask ebay to step in.

Mentor3 years agoDid you get your refund? Worry about that first. If not after four days go back to the Return Request and ask ebay to step in. Do not close or let the case expire without doing this, you'll be out your money too.
If his new listing is wrong, use the report button on the listing.
