Lack of Buyer Help for a Refund
Is a buyer under any obligation to assist with a refund/return situation? The buyer claims some of the items arrived damaged.
As the seller, I had purchased insurance from USPS. An inspection might be needed. The buyer supplied 2 useless photos of the package. I can't get an answer to determine if they still possess the shipping box. A request for additional photos. The reply was, 'here's how much I want refunded.'
At this point, I can't inspect anything. The USPS can't inspect anything, so I can't proceed with a claim. I'm trying to do right by the buyer, but I'm getting little to no cooperation from the buyer.
I've spoken to eBay twice and, as it's a carrier issue, they're avoiding involvement. Basically saying that I should choose the option that will cost me the least.
Does anyone know of any remedies at my disposal?
If this is what happens on an eBay sale involving a carrier, my next sale will be pick-up only, or thru FB Marketplace.
