knock off items
I bought some SanDisk microSD Pro 256GB memory cards from a seller on Ebay who had a decent price, nothing that would have normally raised red flags for me in the memory market, like too good to be true would have to be more than a 30% difference in price for under $50 items before I think something is up.
Any way, testing the first of the 4 cards against a known good valid card of all 256GB capacity with read and write speeds on my reader 178 / 127 for Read write against the claimed max of 200 / 140, the 4 suspect cards identical in all print other than a small missing bit on the back of package and the max up to numbers are 170MB/s / 90MB/s for read and write. Testing at only a 64GB capacity not the 256 they are supposed to be. opening the package, the plastic bit containing the card and adapter does not have the seal on the back side, the adapter does not have a serial number on it, there is no recovery pro software 2 year code, the picture on the packaging of a tiger reaching for something on a smart phone is not in near the focus..... so either these cards are legit and missing these things and underperforming as they are and just defective and lack luster manufacturing, or they are as they appear, cheap knock offs.
I have already messaged the seller an hour ago but I do not expect a response, unless he asks me to send the cards back for a refund later after he gets said cards back.
who do I contact about this. Looks to be others with similar listings, similar store set up. That suggests to me a ring of people selling this garbage. Anybody able to give some definite answers or good advice on who to contact or how to proceed with this.
Thanks for your time.
