Knife clones and counterfeits
I see people selling fakes on here for hundreds of dollars all the time and eBay doesn't stop them but when I try to sell one for $30 they won't let me. eBay obviously doesn't care if you're dishonest and sell fakes but how can you honestly sell a fake?

It's not only a policy violation to sell counterfeits, it's a crime. eBay does care about these listings and that's why they are pulling listings that violate policy 24/7. Unfortunately, they don't catch them all. Sometimes it takes time before they are caught, and sometimes they are pulled when reported by the manufacturer or a user.
There are over 2 billion listings on eBay and they are changing all the time as items are bought and new ones are listed. That's a lot of policing to do.
Don't even think about listing a counterfeit. If you're caught, you will be on eBay's radar and you could jeopardize your ability to continue selling.

OP8 months agoThanks for the info I obviously won't bother then It's just a bummer to have a couple fake but nice knives laying around and think someone might like them so you try to sell a set of 3 popular models for $50 and get denied to only then see someone selling just one of the exact same fake knives for $200 and it's got 15 watchers! It's just crazy when the scammer gets paid, eBay gets paid and the buyer gets screwed. I get why it's hard to catch em all but I do believe this is also a little bit of a "what people don't know won't hurt em, nice guys finish last" kind of a situation. Anyway I do like to sell legitimate knives so I won't jeopardize that I was just curious what was going on. Thanks again

Those other listings could be in the wrong category OR they could wind up being removed OR they could wind up being blocked when they sell. We see this all the time where a Seller has an item taken down or blocked yet others supposedly have theirs listed for sale.
In the lower right-hand corner of the eBay page you can use the Question mark link to Report a listing you suspect violates an eBay policy.
