You have an option to close your eBay account IF you do not agree, for some reason, with the changes to the Legal Disputes section of the User Agreement ("UA").
Otherwise, like always, your account remains "live" and intact and active.
If memory serves from the last changes to the Legal Disputes section of the UA, the process for opting out of these revisions is spelled out within the UA itself. With a link to open the form to be mailed to eBay documenting your choice to opt-out.
I haven't reviewed all the changes to the User Agreement yet. I only know of the three changes that eBay mentioned in its e-mail to my buying/posting ID. I assume the e-mail for my selling ID received the same message from eBay.
The first change that e-mail mentioned was clarifications to eBay's class actions waiver. I'm interested to read that, so that's my next Thing To Do Today.
