Jewelry ~ Smelling
It is most concerning to have a negative feedback on my Tiffany 925/18k Bracelet for smelling like cigarettes. I have used the automatic feedback review and called for an escalation or reevaluation. It is to my understanding as a mostly used jewelry seller for over ten years on eBay that we do not smell any jewelry, nor are required to do so. Please advise, Thanks Kindly!

·2 years agoeBay does not have a policy regarding the smell of jewelry. Given past forum conversations, it is likely customer service will state that this is the buyer's subjective impression and that the feedback will stand. It is what the buyer experienced.
Many items acquire smells from liquids broken on the carrier conveyances. Smoke is usually not one of those. Nonetheless, hard objects like jewelry can be washed, and soft items like clothing can be laundered. Cardboard boxes and books are a tougher problem, and packaging material can also soak up smells. Fortunately, in many cases, acquired smells are not permanent.
If the cigarette smell came from your own environment, you may want to mention that in the listing, such as "this is not a smoke free or pet free home".
