Jewelry Authentication Authenticity Authenticators Are Inconsistent And Not Professionals
I recently sold an expensive 14K gold Ring. It was sent to eBay's authenticator and it passed and was sent to the buyer. The buyer changed their mind and initiated a refund. So the ring was then sent back to eBay's authenticators and passed AGAIN, and was returned to me. I relisted the ring and it sold again a few days later. So, I sent it to eBay's authenticators and SOMEHOW IT FAILED AUTHENTICATION this time. **bleep**!?! How can an item pass authentication TWICE, and then fail. After looking through this forum, it seems like this is a common issue with eBay's Authenticators. This is a huge problem and costs sellers money. JUST KNOW THAT EVERY TIME YOU LIST AN ITEM THAT WILL GO THROUGH THE AUTHENTICATION PROCESS, YOU ARE FLIPPING A COIN. If eBay would simply provide the authentication report every time an item either passes or fails, this would fix these types of issues. It seems shady that they don't do that...
