I've purchased a scam listing and need to cancel the order - I don't want to wait 2 months to dispute
I've purchased a scam listing and need to cancel the order - I don't want to wait 2 months to dispute. There is no tracking and the seller claims to be out on vacation, yet declined my cancellation request (product has not shipped yet). How can i talk to a real agent to get this resolved? The seller is acting in bad faith.

Mentor3 weeks agoeBay does not allow sellers to wait 60 days to ship. I'm not sure why you think it will take 2 months?
What is the "estimated delivery date" on the order? If it does not arrive by then, you can file a not received claim and eBay can help you out.
What does the listing say about shipping time? Is there some messaging on the listing itself that says when the seller will ship? Even for pre-orders, sellers have to ship 40 days from purchase.

Order July 5th, seller claims to be on vacation until 20th, shipment not until aug 22. Declined cancellation request, even though clearly not shipped given vacation.
The poster claims to have gotten his order refunded by talking to customer support.

OP3 weeks agoUpdate: I was able to get a full refund before the estimated arrival date.
Step 1: request cancellation
Step 2: get in writing that seller is not able to ship yet
Step 3: call eBay customer service (ask for agent in chatbot)
Step 4: ask agent to manually override and create a did not arrive case, and assign to high value product team
Step 5: wait 1 day, scammer is forced to refund as they cannot ship

Mentor3 weeks agoAfter being on the Ebay boards for 25 years+, I have NEVER heard of anyone being able to receive a refund from Ebay due to item not received before the estimated date of delivery has passed.
