I've had a potential bidder say they are restricted from bidding- how do I take restriction off???

·3 years agoIt depends whether YOU set the "restriction" or eBay did. I've seen error messages quoted where the "restriction" is simply that the poster ran into an eBay buying limit. There is nothing you can do about that.
On the other hand if the buyer ran into a Buyer Requirement that you set you can either change the requirement or add the buyer to your exemption list. Go to the Site Map (link at the bottom of this and most ebay.com pages) Sell Section (use the shortcut at the top--it's a long scroll down) and you'll find the link to those and several other useful seller tools (they are on the page you are first taken to when you click the link to your Blocked Bidder/Buyer List).
You can check whether the buyer ran into a Buyer Requirement at https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/blockedbuyeractivities (you can also select from the list a buyer you want to put on your Exemption List) though I've seen a couple of posts recently that it is not working but that could just be a seller who though there would be an entry but was mistaken that someone was blocked, e.g. a buyer complaining about a "restriction" that was running into an eBay limit.

You need to know what restriction they have. If they have reached their monthly Buying limits there is nothing you can do. If they have 2 Unpaid item strikes you can add them to your Exemption list on this page: Buyer Management | eBay
If their account has been temporarily restricted from buying for other reasons then there is nothing you can do. If they are outside the US with NO US based account but logged in to the US site they can not purchase anything. Check their Feedback history, their location is listed there.
