items was addressed wrong
I ordered an item and the seller addressed it wrong. After going back and forth with the seller and sending FedEx tracking information showing the item was delivered to the wrong address, all claims were denied. I can't get in touch with anyone at EBay. My guess is they flagged my information, and the AI woman won't let me talk to an agent. I am out $115. Has anyone found a way around the gatekeepers to solve this type of issue?
Every time I order something from someone other than Amazon, I find out why I typically don't. If I call Amazon, and they always answer, I have a 100% rate of getting it worked out. It might not always be smooth, but in the end, they take care of the customer.

Mentor8 months ago@bartlaemmel That sounds VERY frustrating.
1) First, call the postal carrier to see if the tracking number label had your name and address on it.
a) If your name and correct address were on the label, ask the postal carrier to review the GPS on the delivery, retrieve the item from the wrong house, and deliver it to you.
b) If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the postal carrier if they will put this in writing. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps here:
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "Suspicious seller activity"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller use a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on social media this way:
Just send a private message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
If the above steps do not result in a refund then you will have to pursue a chargeback with your funding source ( bank, credit card, etc) . Once you ask your funding source to step in eBay can no longer assist you.

OP8 months agoI did all that. I got a response of "case denied. FedEx confirmed delivery to an address that is not the one on my account.

OP8 months agoI do not use instagram and facebook. Ebay's bot says they can't patch me through to an agent because it's outside working hours. Not sure where they are working. I called at 10 in the morning.
I should not have to communicate through a social media platform for a perfectly good customer service issue

Mentor8 months ago@bartlaemmel Social media is best because there is not a language barrier AND you don't have to go through the bots to request a call back.
Contact Customer service this way>
Click this link> https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814
Then Payment. In the chat bot box on the lower right. ( don't type more or the bot gets confused)
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.
This is not exactly the right wording but it should get you past the bots to where you can request a call back.

OP8 months agoI have talked to the person who lives in the home the package was delivered. They are old friends of mine. Turns out the track number for the FedEx package was wrong, and for another item, ordered from another company entirely. I had ordered a Jet Boil from Buddil_25. This packgae was from Olive Branch.
I did get in touch with someone at Ebay yesterday and they said they woul dnot be doing anything to fix the issue.
Now what do ya do?

Mentor8 months ago@bartlaemmel Sorry that you are dealing with this. The only option now is a charge back

OP8 months agoThank you.
Ebay declining to help would be ok, since they haven't done anything to help so far.

Mentor8 months agoSorry... I know that this is frustrating.
If you can provide proof to your funding source of the package weight and that it was not addressed to you then you should have no problem winning the case with your funding source.
