Items selling for less than starting bid
The items I have sold on eBay have been sold for less than the starting price on auction. How do I make sure I get the lowest asking price without having to pay a $5.00 fee? Some of my items have a negative balance by the time the selling fees have been taken out. I have tried reaching out to eBay but nobody has answered me. Thank you

·2 years agoThe only way an item can sell less than the Starting Price of an auction is if YOU accept a Best Offer (or make an offer that the buyer accepts) for less than that Starting Price.
Are you maybe confusing "Starting Price" (a/k/a Starting Bid) with the "Buy It Now" price? Those are two very different thing and the BIN price has no effect on the end price of an auction that goes to the end. Many of your sold listings still have the BIN price showing because you are selling in a "Sticky BIN" category where the BIN remains up until the "current bid" is at least half the BIN price, but unless someone actually uses the BIN button (or Add to Cart and pays) the sale is for the auction price (usually the highesst bid of the second highest bidder plus 1 bid increment).
Set your Starting Price at what you are WILLING to sell the item for (don't forget to add enough to cover fees and expenses not covered by your shipping fee) and the BIN price at what you would LIKE to sell the item for (high enough that you won't regret that you might have gotten more if the auction went until the end).
