Items listed with a price or best offer (obo)
Greetings! If an item is listed for sale with OBO in the description, and I have the highest bid is the seller obligated to sell the item to me? Thanks!

·2 years agoIf you have the highest BID at the end of the auction and there is no Reserve Price (listing would say "Reserve not met" if there was one that your bid was lower than) and you didn't tie with an earlier bid for the same amount, the seller is obligated to sell to you (except in Motor Vehicles and Real Estate).
The same is not true if you made a Best Offer. Each offer stands on its own and the seller is not under any obligation to accept the highest or any offer, it is entirely up to him/her to accept it or not before it expires (including it expires when the auction gets a bid or ends).
