items buyers say they dont have anymore after you have bought
I have tried to buy a frying pan from 5 separate sellers. Each one was searched because they state they are in the US. First seller told me they lost the pkg not even 12hrs after it shipped. Second seller said two days after I purchased that even though the listing said they had twelve they had non. Third seller told me the day after I bought the pan that it was damaged in transit. Fourth seller told me the item was misshipped five days after I bought. Fifth seller said one day after I bought that the item was in a far away warehouse and we cancelled the order. I even checked with a 6th seller and they told me they could not ship to my zip code. Everyone has refunded my purchase money but what is happening now days with so many sellers (this has happened before with other items) not actually having items to sell what they have listed. Every seller i search out I want in the US as this is where I am. Every one of these sellers seem to get around this and show they are US sellers when you search but in the seller info after the sale lists them all overseas.

Mentor8 months agoIt sounds like you are purchasing from sellers that may be drop-shipping from another location. In other words, those sellers do not have stock on hand, and may not be keeping track of the available inventory as they should.
It may not be possible to always identify in advance those sellers who drop-ship, but it is possible to identify some common characteristics of illicit retail drop-shippers or other under-performing sellers, and thus avoid the worst of them.
Often they can be spotted by a combination of low feedback number, free shipping of heavy items where it would not be profitable to use retail shipping, use of stock photos, high handling time (not necessarily if they are using Amazon or Walmart, though), poor feedback received with complaints of delays and wrong items or out of stock cancellations, very odd item selection and/or quantities like items were chosen at random from a catalog, canned item descriptions scraped from another site that exactly match many other similar listings, differences between registration location on the feedback page and item location (or vague item location -- like "US, United States"), or inability to answer even basic questions about the items being sold.
