Item well past it's delivery date is missing
I shipped an item on July 26th which was slated to arrive at the buyer's place on August 1st. It went out via USPS. Tracking shows the label being created and the package being picked up on the 26th but nothing since then. I tried checking on it on August 4th and was assured it had left the local PO (although tracking doesn't indicate that it did). They said to give it until Monday (today, the 7th). It still hasn't moved from what I can tell. I wrote the buyer last Friday to tell them what was going on but have not heard a word from them. What do I do now? Just wait until the buyer jumps in? Go waste more time standing in line at the post office? Not sure what my next step should be.

·3 years agoIt's possible it gets delivered without any scans.
Unless the buyer contacts you or files an INR, I wouldn't do anything right now.

Mentor3 years agoIf it was sent ground, you often do not see any movement on the tracking until it gets close to the destination, since it is on a truck.
Submit an online help request, then after 4-5 days, a missing mail request. 15 days after mailing, you can file an insurance claim (ground now includes $100 insurance). Also check the tracking and request email or text updates, so you don't have to keep checking.

Do not refund the buyer until he opens a not received claim, to give the package as much time as possible to arrive. The last one I refunded arrived 2 days later. Let the buyer know that you filed the help request, etc.
