Item was SENT damaged, not damaged during shipping
Seller sent a figurine that had been broken and repaired. That wasn't disclosed in the auction. When I opened a return case, I chose "item damaged," but eBay put the reason for return "damaged during shipping." Sounds like I should have chosen "item didn't match description"?
At any rate, how do I get this changed?
Thank you

Mentor11 months ago@jke You can't change the return reason, however since damaged in shipping is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee you will receive a refund. Don't close the case as you won't be able to open a new one.
4 business days after filing the return request if the seller has not provided a return shipping label or a full refund then ask eBay to step in and help: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-to-step-in?id=4701
Postal insurance is for the sellers protection, you are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
Let me know if you need to return an item to another country as there are additional steps required. The seller pays return shipping for an item that is not as described no matter where they are located.

OP11 months agoThank you @comics-scifi-collectibles . They did email a shipping label. I'm concerned that they will open a case with the post office and say the item was damaged in shipping, but I suppose I shouldn't be concerned with that.

·11 months agoThe seller filing a claim with the USPS will not affect your claim on eBay, so that is not something to be concerned about.

Mentor11 months ago@jke Just use the return label if they don't refund you NOW. Then the seller has to pay return shipping and then refund you.
