Item sold without my authorisation found on eBay
My lodger sold accidentally one of my paintings without my authority. Now buyer sold on to another buyer and the last buyer is reselling it as an old Italian Master paint from 18th Century when it’s not. I’ve contacted seller as per eBays recommendation that he has no authority from my side to sell my painting on eBay.
Id like to retrieve my pairing as it was a special present from my late cousin. What can I do?

Mentor3 years agoAll you can really do is buy it from the current seller and get your lodger to pay for it.
I think your only other option would be to report the painting stolen - you would have to file a police report on the theft, then inform them that the item is for sale on eBay. The police have a way to contact eBay about stolen property. Your lodger would be arrested for theft.
