Item sold with warranty but has no warranty
Summary: tkoparts purchased an item listed with a one-year manufacturer warranty, but the item failed and neither the seller nor the manufacturer will honor the warranty. tkoparts is unable to find a resolution through eBay's framework as the return window has closed. comics-scifi-collectibles suggested that the issue with warranties falsely advertised should be addressed by eBay and advised tkoparts to contact their payment method for potential protection options.
Item purchased on 6/16. The listing stated returns are not accepted or are subject to 30% restocking fee. Item was listed as having a 1 year manufacturer warranty.
The item has failed, the seller refuses to accept a return or exchange. The manufacturer, Polaris, states their warranty does not cover items sold by 3rd party sellers and they will not warranty it. So I’m stuck with a $750 piece of junk.
I cannot find a resolution within the eBay framework. I cannot find a way to even seek a resolution because eBay’s Help center just circles around telling me the return window has closed. I cannot find any info on this type of situation. What can I do?

Mentor3 weeks agoeBay's money back guaranty is only good for 30 days from receipt of the item. Only sellers who are authorized dealers for a manufacturer can help with warranty issues and as you found most manufacturers will not cover eBay's items since most sellers are not authorized dealers. Check with your payment source to see what help they can give.

Mentor3 weeks ago@tkoparts I wish that eBay wouldn't allow sellers to say an item has a warranty when it in fact does not. Manufacturers as you found out do not honor warranties unless the item is sold by an authorized retailer.
Unfortunately the eBay Money Back Guarantee is only 30 days from the date of delivery. An eBay agent can not extend this time limit.
Your only option is to contact your payment method to see if they offer any protection.
