Item sold as shipped but wants to pickup locally

Buyer purchased an item as shipping to them but realized they are local. I did have local pickup as an option in the listing. Is there a way to switch item to pickup after the buyer has already went through the purchase process ? The item is in the "waiting to ship" status .

The path of least resistance is to message the Buyer and ask them to message you back and ask to cancel the original transaction because eBay expects you to ship it and since it is paid for the system will not let you change it. You can then cancel using the reason Buyer requested. Do this before your Handling time expires if at all possible.

Next, Relist the item and the Buyer can purchase it selecting the Local pick up option. Once they purchase you can exchange contact information to set up the day, time and location of the pickup. The Buyer will be issued a QR code and an email with a 6 digit code. If you use the eBay phone app you can scan the QR code at pick up or the Buyer can give you the 6 digit code. Failing that go back to the item and mark it Shipped-picked up after the exchange.
