Item shipping from somewhere completely different than what was listed. Seller's address in China.
Good evening, all,
I just recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra from a seller here on eBay. Their feedback looked good: 99.4% out of 1700+ feedback. However, when I received my tracking information, it caught me off guard. The listing said the item was in Brooklyn, NY with a delivery date of April 3-6. The tracking number says that USPS is waiting for the item in Rancho Cucamonga, CA (a suburb of Los Angeles) with a delivery date of April 2-6. Add to that, the sale shows the address of the seller, which turns out to be China...
When I did my shopping, I had US only selected as a filter (which Brooklyn, NY matches). Any idea what's going on and what I can do about the situation on my end?

OP4 months agoSo my suspicions have been confirmed. I just received the phone today. Not only is the phone not sealed, the IMEI of the phone doesn't match the box. I will be reaching out to eBay to try and get this scam phone returned and my money refunded.

Mentor5 months agoThe seller in China may have 2 warehouses, one on the east coast and one on the west coast, so when one warehouse is out of stock, the item will be shipping from the other warehouse.
I wouldn't say that Rancho Cucamonga is a suburb of Los Angeles. LA is in Los Angeles county and Rancho Cucamonga is in San Bernardino county, 37 miles east of LA.

OP5 months agoFair enough. If that's the case, I'm okay with that. I'm just concerned about getting scammed or ending up with an item that has undisclosed taxes or fees on it because it was shipped from overseas and went through customs first before USPS receives it. I've not had an item come from somewhere other than the location it was listed at, so it was triggering red flags for me.
