Item shipped after I already got a refund. What should I do?
Summary: pancakebob shared their experience of buying a Nintendo Switch 2 on eBay. Initially, the item wasn't shipped, and after no response from the seller, they got eBay involved, receiving a refund. However, the item eventually shipped after they had already purchased another one elsewhere. They are unsure how to proceed, having already contacted the seller to return the item but have yet to receive a response.
I bought an item (Nintendo Switch 2) on eBay in early August. The seller posted the USPS tracking # but for several weeks USPS reported not having received the item. During this time I contacted the seller multiple times to confirm if they had dropped it off. No response.
This was actually the second time I had a seller ghost me over a Switch 2 (first was on FB Marketplace) so I thought "oh great, here we go again." I got eBay support involved. They reached out to the seller and also got no response so after a few days I was issued a refund.
I went and bought a Switch 2 on a different site, 3rd time was the charm, I'm enjoying it, and I thought everything was squared away, but it seems not so.
Just yesterday the tracking came back to life and USPS reports the item is almost here.
I'm not sure what to do about this since technically I haven't paid for the item (I did but got a full refund). I reached out to the seller offering to send it back, but if they remain silent as before then IDK what to do.
I've a mind to just keep the thing for my girlfriend, after all the hoops this seller made me jump through, but I am unsure of the legality of doing that.
