Item sent to me marked Delivered but Item returned to sender for erroneous address

Question

I have an EBAY account but bought an item on 12/15/25 as a guest advertised by EBAY on Meta's Marketplace.

Item never arrived but marked as Delivred according to seller on 12/24/25. I examined tracking and saw that it was Returned to Seller for address problem. Meta gave a hybrid address. Seller received item 2 days ago and wants my true address but EBAY blocks that information in chat. HELP!! Neither Ebay nor Meta have a record of this sale when order number is applied.

Since you did not buy the item from an ebay listing, found on eBay, but from one you found on a different site, you have no ebay protections. Unfortunately, this is a common scam. You say you bought as a guest. If you did you should have received an Order Confirmation email in your regular email account on the day you made the purchase. It might have gone into a Business, Promotions or even a Spam folder, so you should look for it. If you never received such an email, the transaction was not handled by ebay.
