item returned isn’t item shipped
Summary: 00gp1200r reported an issue with a jacket return on eBay. The buyer claimed the item was not as described, prompting a return process. Although the tags on the jacket were initially intact, they were taped back upon return, and the jacket received was used instead of new. Despite reporting this to eBay, the buyer received a full refund. 00gp1200r is seeking advice on how to rectify the situation.
Hi,
I recently saw Jack. The buyer received the jacket and immediately indicated that the jacket was not as prescribed in in the ad. I placed jacket with the tags that were attached so research can’t be done prior to purchasing. The seller and immediately initiated a turn, which I accepted, and I had asked if the tax have been removed. The seller indicated the tags were still on the jacket, so I accepted the return. When I receive the item, the tax have been removed and taped back on the jacket, and upon further review of the jacket, the jacket returned was not the jacket I shipped out which was new tag. This jacket was used. I indicated that on the return back to eBay and buyer still receive a full refund. How can this be rectified thank you.

Mentor1 week ago@00gp1200r I understand that this is frustrating. There is no way to reverse the refund.
This is how returns work>>>
If the buyer files a refund request SAYING that the item is not as described then you need to accept the return and issue the return shipping label.
The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrules your returns policy. Your return policy is only for buyers remorse refund requests such as doesn't fit, changed mind, etc.
If you do not accept the return willingly then the buyer can ask eBay to step in and force a refund. You do not get your seller's fees back, you get a defect and the buyer may be allowed to keep the item.
If the buyer abuses the eBay MBG in some way then you can report them but it doesn't get your money back:

Sellers have protection for return abuse if they offer FREE RETURN shipping on their listings OR if they are a Top Rated seller and offer 30 days or greater returns. The seller can then reduce the refund amount by up to 50% if the buyer sends a different item or somehow reduces the value of the item.
Seller protection:

After you receive the item back you can try and appeal the case.
