Item returned even though I do not accept returns
I sold an item and the item was returned to me. The item sold was properly described (With multiple pictures) and all important information about the item was in the listing. I stated that the item was sold "as is" and to confirm it would work in your unit. This was an ice maker for a refrigerator. I also have listed that I do not accept returns. However I was on vacation and the buyer requested a return of the item because it did not fit. It was not broken or described wrong, they just did not take the time to confirm it was the right one. Since I did not see the email from Ebay that the return was requested they approved it and when I returned back home the item was on my porch. Also I had put my account on "Time away" before I left so Ebay knew I would not be available for a part of that time. Anyhow they approved the return and now I have the item. I did issue a refund but my concern is that Ebay approved the return even though I clearly have selected the No returns policy. What good it is to have that if Ebay will over ride it. If the item is described improperly or not accurate I could see but this was not. The buyer just did not confirm. Is there anything I can do to make sure this does not happen again. Is there a setting to make it that Ebay can not over ride my settings?
