Item returned and no refund

Hi,

i returned an item through ebay international return, it has reached their international hub on the 28th and I should have received my refund on the 30th but nothing. I just called them and they told me the refund was already issued on the 24th and that I had to wait 7 business days to receive it on Paypal ??! I don't understand what's going on and I'm really worried cause now I don't have the item anymore and no refund received.

when checking the status of my refund I can read:

The item has been delivered

You can expect a refund within 5 to 7 business days.

but also:

Your item is being inspected by the seller and you should receive a refund soon

and when i contacted the seller he told me this:

"Hi, since this was an international return and handles by eBay, this is out of my control. You will have to contact eBay for the return status"

i am really confused and don't understand anything. What should I do?
