Item removed from listing by Ebay
Summary: h20812 had an issue with eBay removing their relisted sneakers due to a policy violation, after an initial mishap where a refund was issued without following proper protocol. fashionsandbeauty4u suggested not relisting the item if eBay views it as a policy violation, and provided a tip on sending return labels via external services. eastlaneave advised checking the listing for any personal information like URLs or email addresses that might have caused the issue, and provided links to relevant eBay policies. h20812 found a URL issue in the verbiage and planned to edit the listing accordingly, thanking eastlaneave for the help.
I SOLD - New Cole Haan Men's GrandPrø Topspin Sneaker, Black, Size 9.5
Order number: 15-15054-20449 and shipped the sneaker to the buyer.
The buyer received the sneaker and requested a refund because the sneaker was in fact a women's sneaker and the listing was inaccurate. I immediately issued the refund and closed the case. I did not follow the protocol for refunds, the buyer needed to send the sneakers back to me, once I received the returned sneakers I needed to inspect the sneakers ans accept the return. Then issue the refund. When the refund is issued the case is closed and there is no way to send a shipping label to the buyer to return the item.
I needed to get the sneakers back, so I communicated with the buyer to send them a shipping label outside of Ebay since it was not possible to do so through Ebay now that the case was closed .
I sent them a shipping label and the sneakers were returned to me.
I relisted the sneakers with an accurate description as Cole Haan Women's GrandPrø Topspin Sneaker, Black, Size 9.5.
Ebay removed the new women's cole haan sneaker listing and prohibited the sneakers from being resold, citing the reason as I went outside of Ebay to sell an item.
Ebay is misinterpreting the communication I had with the buyer as attempting to arrange a sale outside of Ebay. How do I help EBay understand the communication and allow the sneakers to be resold?

If eBay removed the listing for "I went outside of Ebay to sell an item" it is something in the listing. It is not because you communicated with your buyer.
The error message sounds like eBay thinks there is a phone number or other contact information in the actual listing.
Here are things to look for and edit to solve this:
1) Does your description mention "PayPal" if so, remove that.
2) Do you have a website URL, an email address, or a phone number in the description, the item specifics, or in the photos?
If so, remove those.
3) A series of 7 or 10 numbers that looks like a phone number?
4) An @ sign in the description?
5) A misplaced period example fitbit.ly lets go.to the mall
6) The word PO Box, Street, Avenue, or other things that could be part of an address, like a City and State?
7) If you copied and pasted the description, there can be a URL hidden in the text. I can explain how to remove that if needed.

OP2 weeks agoThank you for the responding to my inquiry and providing useful feedback to resolve my issue. I will edit the listing based on your recommendations and relist the sneakers. There was in fact, a url included in the verbiage. Editing the url and reviewing the listing for your recommendations is where the problem is.

If eBay took down the new listing due to what they feel is a serious policy violation, I would not try to rellst them.
Your post states "I did not follow the protocol for refunds". And that you went "outside of eBay" to send a label.
Going forward, once you have had a transaction with a Buyer, if you need to send them a return label after a case is closed, you can purchase a discounted label on PayPal or Pirateship.
