Item refused from Click and Collect Shop, seller won't refund
I won a bid and the item was dispatched with the seller via royal mail to a click+collect collect+ shop. It was refused by the shop on the day of the delivery and sent back to the seller.
It is not clear why it was refused but it seems the seller might have left the eCP code off the address. The tracking link just says refused delivery.
I opened a case to ask for a refund, and the seller said they could do nothing until they got the item back.
The seller has now received the item back and said they can't refund me because there is an open case. I said I want to wait for Ebay to step in to help me, but they seem upset that i want to get a full refund and that the item isn't lost so i cant get one.
I am not sure what to do and just want the order to be cancelled as I don't want to pay any more for shipping.
Is the best thing to do just wait for ebay to help?

·2 years agoThis is a rare occasion where I'd suggest doing what the seller says (unless there is one circumstance that I would have expected you to mention if it applied). A refusal of the package (and the shop is your agent so you are responsible for its refusal, like the carrier is the seller's agent so s/he is responsible for loss or damage in transit) waives the Money Back Guarantee for non-receipt unless it is because of postage due (and if so you need to be able to document that).
Without that exception being applicable and proven to eBay's satisfaction, eBay will not refund you (or at least is not supposed to, so you are dependent on the good will of the seller to refund when the item is returned. Even if it was listed here (price in US Dollars) the rules of the site purchased on might still apply.
ETA: You might want to check first with the Help Pages and forums on ebay.co.uk. You asked this on ebay.com, the primarily US site, and other sites sometimes have different rules than we have over here. If you purchased an item that was listed on ebay.co.uk (price in Pounds) using that site it would be subject to the rules of that site, not this one.
