Item received from Amazon, package contained gift receipt. TOS violation?
I purchased an item from an Ebay seller. I received an unexpected package from Amazon. Opening it, I found the item I'd purchased on Ebay, and an Amazon GIFT RECEIPT. Does this seller's behavior run afoul of Ebay's policies?
It bugs me, because it tells me the seller didn't have the item in-hand when they created the listing, and nothing within the listing indicated the item would be drop-shipped from a manufacturer. I'd shop online at Home Depot and Walmart if I wanted the uncertainty about whether the item I ordered was actually in stock!

Mentor2 years ago@crypix Report them to Amazon too. This is misuse of their account. I have called Amazon when I have gotten gift receipts and they want to know about it.

Mentor2 years agoYes, the tell tale sign is the GIFT RECEIPT, which means the seller did not have the item in hand, and purchased it from Amazon, using his/her Prime account, which is a policy violation. You can report the seller. When that happened to me, I left appropriate feedback on the seller's account.
