Item received after refund was issued
Received supposed lost item after it was deemed lost by post office. The item arrived damaged due to improper packaging. The seller is demanding pictures so that he can file a claim with post office for the item or he will report me to eBay for no funds. It was due to improper packaging that the item arrived damaged. Not only did it arrive broken but super late as it was intended as a birthday gift. Leaving me to go find something else last minute. Am I obligated to comply? I told the seller he can have the item back if he provides shipping n packaging costs but now he is being pushy about the pictures.

First of all, you have already been refunded, so you are not obligated to do anything. As for them reporting you for this, there is nothing eBay will do either. This has already been closed in their view, if you had been refunded.
The seller should just have the item returned and they can deal with the issues regarding its shipping on their own. They would need to provide you a return label that you can print out and put on the box. If you have to repack the box due to damage or if this is too much to hassle with, you honestly don't have to at this point.
Did the seller refund you voluntarily, or did you file an item not received request? Was it refunded in full? If yes to the second, again, you are not obligated to deal with this if you don't want to.
Sellers do make mistakes, and I will help out a seller when I can, but sometimes, especially if they are not professional about it, I may decide it not worth the effort. But only you can make that decision!

OP11 months agoThank you! This eased my mind. Item was sent in a mailer not a box so of course the object was damaged. I too wouldn’t have minded obliging but now I don’t even want to make an effort due to the pushiness. Tks again!
