There may or may not be reasons for this, Seller is away and not back from the holidays yet, they have a 3 day or longer handling time, they dropped their package off at the carrier instead of standing in line for a scan and tracking has not updated yet, they purchased their label outside eBay and did not manually add the tracking number to the transaction ... yet. Or something else happened.
The date you want to keep an eye on is the original estimated delivery date. One day past that is when you can process a claim.
You are protected by the eBay Money Back Guarantee for 30 days from the latest estimated delivery date: eBay Money Back Guarantee policy
You can file a claim via the item in your Purchase History that you did not receive your item one day past the original estimated delivery date and up to 30 days after that. Follow the steps in the claim and they will lead to an eventual refund.
You don't know that the item has not been sent to the carrier, you only know that the package hasn't been scanned by the carrier. However, if you don't receive your item, here's what to do...
Check the estimated delivery date shown in your Purchase History. When that date has passed, you have up to 30 days to use the option next to the transaction to open a case for an item not received. The seller will have 3 business days to prove delivery or refund. If he doesn't, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. eBay will force the refund.

·9 months agoWhat was the seller’s handling time? three days is common, and would mean the seller wouldn’t have to ship until the end of the day today.
