Item Purchased and then Refunded by Seller
Recently won an item on auction, paid for it almost immediately, and received confirmation. Three days later I get an email detailing purchase order and shipping details. Then received an email saying the order was cancelled with the following message, "Unfortunately, the seller had to cancel your order due to the following reason: Something was wrong with the buyer's shipping address."
This doesn't make any sense because the address on the prior purchase and shipping detail email was CORRECT!
The seller cancelled the order and is refunding the purchase amount. I reached out to the seller and have not received a response yet as to my inquiry regarding the supposed incorrect address and and cancellation of the order! Granted, I just sent the seller an email asking about this situation and, hopefully, will get a replay within the next 24 hours. The seller does have a 100% positive feedback rating (as do I)... but this is confusing as to why this transaction was cancelled.
Oh, and one more thing, the seller relisted the item!
What should I do next if I do not receive a response or receive a response that doesn't sit too well as an explanation about my correct address on the order?
Thanks for input.

To add:
I agree with @disneyshopper here. They most likely used that to avoid a defect. However its also possible the seller had an issue with shipping costs, or as noted didn't like the price it sold at.
While its expected that a seller honors a sale, sometimes they have to decide if the cost of a mistake is worth risking a defect for making a false claim.
Now the other possible reason, if the seller noted the buyer is from a country they don't ship to. Some sellers may cancel using that reason because for them it is a problem. I myself have excluded international shipping, but I still occasionally get buyers from other countries anyway, despite my restrictions.
Not sure if you reside in the same country as your seller, but its another potential reason.

Mentor2 years agoIt sounds like the seller was not happy with the price since he relisted the item. He selected Problem with buyer's address to avoid receiving a defect recorded on his account for Out of stock. You can report the seller here:
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
1. Select The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies and click Continue.
2. On the next page, enter the seller's ID and select Other.
3. In the comment section, write "Seller cancelled order stating that there was a Problem with buyer's address in order to avoid a defect and then relists that item as an auction" Include the new item number.
Too many defects, and sellers can be restricted or suspended.
