Item plainly advertised, Location: Lombard Illinois, United States... Then shipped from China.
Summary: In the discussion, dcp240sx raises a concern about an item they purchased, which was advertised as located in Lombard, Illinois, but was actually shipped from China. comics-scifi-collectibles acknowledges the issue, likely sharing a related experience or understanding, although their exact response is "None," so their exact input isn't provided. The conversation reflects a common concern about misleading shipping origins in online sales.
I would have not bought this item if it wasn't in the U.S. Now he shipped the item from China and he won't let me cancel the order cause he already shipped it. Found where ebay requires seller tell item location, but no place to report it to ebay. So many things pop up when trying to report him I don't know where to put it... All I see is didn't receive item, cancel order, contact seller, How bidding works, shipping & delivery for buyers, How bidding works, but nothing relating to buyer lying about item location. How do I report him, or does it matter.

Mentor4 months ago@dcp240sx I understand and share your frustration, my reply is long because I want to make sure that you are aware of all of your rights as a buyer. Never expect an item sooner than the last estimated delivery date. If it is more than 7 business days chances are the seller maybe not be telling the truth about the item location.
Advise the seller that per eBay policy they are required to to state the true location that they are shipping from on the listing and that if they do not cancel and refund you NOW that you will be filing an eBay Money Back Guarantee case.
You should report the seller for violating eBay policy by lying about the items location. eBay doesn't know that the seller is shipping from a different location than stated on the listing unless they are reported.

Suspicious seller activity> other
Say in the box "Item location misrepresentation. seller stated they would ship from US but is actually shipping from another country." Don't get too wordy as bots read this first.
NEXT> File a not received refund request when it is one day past the last estimated delivery date stated in your purchase history. https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/get-help-item-hasnt-arrived?id=4042 Then Ask eBay Step in and help on the 4th business day if the seller has not refunded you.
NEXT> If the item DOES arrive on time then you can file a return request as an incorrect item location makes the item not as described. IF it arrives in the US with Tariffs due RESPOND TO THIS POST BEFORE FILING A REFUND REQUEST. You will need to handle this differently.
The seller will not be able to provide a valid return label since they are located in another country. If the seller shipped from the US they are not allowed to require a return to another country even for buyers remorse returns. Sellers are required to pay return shipping for not as described items no matter where they are located.
Select the return item button on this page:

The reason Doesn't Match photos and description.
Ask eBay to Step In from the case after 4 business days if the seller has not refunded or sent the money to your PayPal account to pay return shipping> https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-step-help-buyers?id=4701&st=
The seller then has the choice of sending you the money to pay return shipping to your PayPal account OR refunding you without a return of the item. Do NOT pay return shipping yourself and expect to be refunded for it after the item is returned even if an agent says to do this as eBay can not force a refund from the seller for more than the original sale price.
eBay may place the case on hold for 5 days if the seller chooses the PayPal option.
99% of the time a seller in another country will refund without a return of the item once you involve customer service.
Returns to countries NOT on this list must ship via Priority Mail or you will not have tracking proof of delivery.>

If you do have to buy a return label with the funds the seller provided then you MUST enter the tracking number into the return request so you will have proof of the return.
Adding tracking to your return:
Adding tracking details to your return helps protect against delays or issues in the refund process.
Here's how to add the tracking information to your return if you're using your own return shipping label:
Go to the return request in Purchase History.
Select the shipping carrier from the dropdown list. If you select Other, enter the carrier name.
Enter the tracking number.
Select Mark as sent.

OP4 months agoThanks for all that, but I'm not that big on computers, just looking up stuff and sending messages can sometimes gets me confused. If item arrives a few days late that ain't a big deal, long as it's what it's advertised to be, BUT my big problem is him "intentionally "LYING", you can't accidently make that kind of mistake.. I don't like that at all, wish ebay could ban him from ever doing business there again, but figure if they kick him off under the name I bought from, kash-7360, he'll just open a new acct. with a different name and keep LYING to others as he has to me. I's just wishing there'd be a place like lying about item or lying about location where I could report him, all those things they have up there no way relates to my concerns at all.... Thanks for the reply.
