Item Not Received -- No Help From Seller -- Negative Feedback Removed
I purchase an item that was shipped to my single family home where I receive all of my packages. USPS marked the item "delivered to locker." I do not have a locker. I have a porch and a small post box on the wall---that is all. I reported to seller, and seller responded "delivered." I explained, I do not have a locker. I am a SFH. Seller would not respond to any other messages for days. All I received was ONE response which said "delivered." I even took a screen shot of the USPS tracking which said delivered to a "locker."
After days of no further reply from seller, no help at all, I finally left a negative feed back stating these FACTS and nothing more. Seller somehow had the feedback removed.
Can anyone explain this?? How on earth could she get the feedback removed??? This is why I mostly do not leave feedback anymore. Sellers who deserve and receive negative feedbacks get them removed almost immediately. This seller is back to 100% feedback. How many other negatives or neutrals has she had removed? What good is feedback if ALL the feedback anyone can see are the positives?
Worse still, once the seller gets a feedback removed, even though it was WRONGLY removed, eBay will not reinstate it. Once many years ago, I had a wrong removed negative feedback reinstated TWICE, and seller got it removed a third time, and then eBay told me once removed, they will not reinstate it. This is not right.

OP10 months agoSeller sent me a photo of the label with the message she sent which said only "delivered." I cannot say for sure that is the label she used or not, but if it was, then it had the correct name and address on it.
I sent her a photo of my house. I explained, I do not have a locker. Tracking shows this was delivered to a "locker" in a different zip code than my house's zip code. She did nothing else. Then, after days of trying to get her to help me and being ignored, I left her a factual only, negative feedback. She must have expected it. She somehow got it removed! How was she able to get it removed???

It was removed since the item showed "delivered"
My advice is don't talk with the seller anymore.
Follow the steps in my first reply above

Mentor10 months agoIt likely wasn't even the seller who had it removed. Since it showed delivery the system may have done an automated removal. Even if it wasn't automated getting a feedback removed for non delivery when it shows delivered would be approved if asked since it is a situation where it would usually be automatically removed.

OP10 months agoThe reason I left the negative feedback was because seller showed zero interest in understanding the situation or in helping me, not because the package did not come to my home. I believe the seller had the feedback removed.
I am sick and tired of negative or neutral feedbacks being removed because a seller whines to some inept eBay agent.
By the way, unrelated to this issue, but I discovered eBay has taken a page out of Mercari's playbook. If buyers fail to leave any feedback, eBay is now leaving positive feedbacks for the buyer. I cannot even begin to tell you how much this ticks me off. If a buyer chooses to leave a feedback of any sort, then that is up to the buyer only. This is one reason I do not buy on Mercari. I do not think their site is well run at all.

Mentor10 months agoAlso if it shows delivered to a different zip code you should be able to appeal the case to eBay. I recommend reaching out to them through facebook for the best results.

OP10 months agoThank you, EastLaneAve. Yes, my name and address would have been on the label because sellers just print those from eBay, but the postman did not come to my house that day at all. In face, I live on a short strip of road with only 3 SFH's on it, and USPS will not come down this little road to look for outgoing mail unless they have mail to deliver. So, we sometimes go days without a postman ever coming down our road. I have learnt I must bring outgoing mail to the post office or a blue box because I cannot count on USPS to stop by and check for outgoing mail.
I am not sure about GPS delivery because if they did deliver to the wrong house, the chances of getting the package back are slim and none. Sadly, people around here just keep anything that is misdelivered to them.
The item was not so costly (roughly $30) that the seller would have had any reason to use a fake tracking number I would not think, but I can try to file something with eBay.
In a case such as this, is not the seller obligated to do more than just say "delivered" and nothing more? If I were a seller, I would do all I could to find out what happened to my buyer's package and why it showed delivered to a locker instead of the buyer's residence.

Your name and address may not have been on the label.
USPS will confirm whether your name was on there label (they won't tell you a different name, but they will confirm your name.)
Not all seller print their labels from eBay.
It's the Post Office's job to retrieve a misdelivered package, not your job.
Some sellers (and some buyers) are bad actors and by following these processes, we can help get them removed.
Even for $30, bad actors will scam.
I don't know if that's what happened in your case, but it has all the markers of it.

I'm sorry that happened.
1) First, call the post office to see if the tracking number label contained your name and your address.
a) If your name and correct address were on the label, ask USPS to review the GPS on the delivery, retrieve the item from the wrong house, and deliver it to you.
b) If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the Post Office if they will put this in writing. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps here:
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on social media this way:
Just sent a private message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
Let me know how this goes, I've been burned a few times myself (including on Amazon), but I have been able to get a refund following this process.
There are additional steps to take if the above isn't effective, just come back and update me.
