Item not received and Ebay will not return my $1818.42
I bought an item on Ebay from a registered zero feedback seller and he mailed an empty box to Cosco on Coors bypass in Albuquerque instead of my registered Ebay address of 26 years with Ebay. The tracking number showed it was delivered and signed for and said I received it. That was absolutely untrue. I spoke with the shipping and receiving manager at Cosco and she said she received a 8" empty box. I bought a crossbow and case so the package should have been 2' x 2' x 3' and about 38 pounds. Ebay for some unknown reason found in favor of the fraud seller. I asked Ebay for proof I received it and the said they can't give me that information. I went to my local post office and they verified Costco received the package and show me the video of the scanned package and it was 8" x 6" x 3" and weighed 13 ounces and not 38 pounds. The seller found a loophole in Ebays shipping system and stole my money with Ebays help. I have filed an appeal. I will file a lawsuit this week because Ebay violated their on policy by not shipping it to my registered Ebay address. What a JOKE Ebay is.

Unfortunately, you have fallen prey to the False tracking number scam. It is a growing problem on eBay and they are working to try and refine how it is handled for valued customers.
You need to get a document from the Post Office stating that the package was not delivered to your address and then contact eBay with that information to prove delivery confirmation was to a different address than yours. Make sure you tell eBay it was a False tracking number scam.

If for some reason eBay does not satisfy you then you will have to file a dispute with your funding source, PayPal, credit card, etc.

OP11 months agoThank you for the help and information. Because of the ridicule's outcome with Ebay, it seems like the people making the final decision in this case are either uneducated or part of the fraud. I provided indisputable evidence with total proof of non-delivery a 6-year-old would have found the case in my favor. Ebay is no longer a safe trading environment as they preach they are. After over 26 years of Ebay loyalty this is what I get from Ebay, I will see what happens.

It is a real Catch 22 ... there are four parties involved. The Seller, Buyer, eBay and Carrier. At present there is no eBay Help page that explains exactly how Buyers can obtain and provide specific information from the Carrier and present it to eBay to receive their refund AND to restrict or suspend the Seller's account. While most of these scams are obvious Carriers do occasionally mis-deliver items but the process makes no provisions for the Carrier to be ultimately responsible for THEIR mistake and be held accountable to provide the refund to the Buyer through eBay out of their own pocket. In the case of a mis-delivered package the Seller should NOT be penalized. eBay rules on these cases but they are the most removed party form the process. They only rely on tracking information provided by the Seller on the Sold item and then the delivery status from the Carrier.

OP11 months agoGood News! Today I received a full refund from Ebay. I was able to get the documents from Costco stating that my shipment was just 3 blank sheets of paper and not a crossbow. Then I was able to get all of the USPS documents supporting my claim that the seller is a fraud from start to finish with the tracking and no shipment. And finally, my bank went after Ebay once I provided them all of my proof of fraud by an Ebay seller.
I received a full refund in 4 hours after the bank went after them. That was so quick, after all Ebay has had my money for over 3 weeks and closed my case and my appeal and found in the seller's favor.
I very grateful for your help as well as every other person that helped me.
