Item not delivered - ebay unwilling to refund
Hello, community members,
I bought a set of Bowflex dumbbells from a seller in China. They provided me a tracking number. When the item showed delivered I looked for it on the front porch even though the tracking number said delivered at mailbox. I was home at the time the tracking showed delivered. After reaching out to the seller to confirm the tracking, I was given the same number, so it wasn't a mistake by the seller in giving me the wrong number. The tracking shows it was delivered to my city and state, but no other info on the tracking link like the exact address, size, weight dimension, etc (which I understand). I initially assumed it was delivered to the wrong address. I contacted USPS because the International tracking number said the package was delivered to USPS for final delivery. I contacted USPS and this is where it all goes wrong.
- USPS said they don't accept packages above 70lbs. My dumbbells are 52.5 pounds each for a total of 105 lbs not including packing material.
- USPS said they can confirm the package was delivered to an address in my city and state but can't give me the address for security reasons. They can however tell me that it was not my address that the package was delivered to.
- USPS said the package they delivered was 1.4 ounces, not 100+ pounds.
- USPS provided me with an email documenting the information on this tracking number.
When I first reached out to eBay before getting info from USPS they denied my claim. When I appealed it, the seller provided them the same tracking number and they denied my appeal. After many frustrating calls and emails, I provided the information to eBay customer service and the seller. Still no resolution to my case which began mid-October 2023. I've sent ebay customer service an email from USPS with their findings, still no answer or resolution from eBay.
I'm out about quite a bit of money. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

·2 years agoYou need a letter from USPS, not a email stating the information they gave you.
Then use the letter to appeal the case.
