Item never received seller trying to refund through PayPal not original payment

Question

so I ordered something from the seller never delivered. It shows that it never delivered. The seller is trying to have me do the refund through PayPal saying that eBay is going to not pay me taxes and theyâ€™re gonna charge me a fee if they do a refund through eBay I told him three times no not PayPal and he still keeps trying to pressure me saying eBay refund thing isnâ€™t working, it just shady any advice? Thank you.

Hi @leic_84 Yes, that's shady! Don't do it. The eBay refund thing is definitely working, and they do NOT charge you a fee. Submit a request now for refund for Item Not Received with eBay's Money Back Guarantee:

Also report that seller's messages to eBay, as they're violating eBay policies.

The seller is lying to you. That is not how eBay works. The seller is just trying to make a refund outside of eBay so their account is not dinged for the refund. They probably have had to make a number of refunds so they do not want eBay to see another one and suspend their account.

If they do not cooperate open an "Item not received" case and if they cannot prove the item was delivered with tracking eBay will force the refund once you ask eBay to step in after three business days.
