Item marked as "delivered" but was actually sent to a different address
Hey eBay community,
I'm curious if anyone has been in a similar situation.
I recently bought an iPhone and the seller is claiming they sent it to my house but USPS is telling me that it was sent to a totally different address (even the street name is different) but same Zip code and City. For privacy, they can't tell me the exact address it was shipped to but only the street name. I've lived in my current house for years and never shipped to another home or location for years. I called and went in person to the post office and they told me the same thing so it's 100% confirmed it was shipped to a different address.
When I filed an "item not received" case, eBay closed the case instantly in favor of the seller since the tracking shows it was delivered. Seller is telling me they called USPS and they said it was delivered to my house (big lie) and is providing the worst communication. Now I am in the process of creating an appeal to my case and want to know what info will be needed from the USPS to win this case. I want to ask the USPS for the right documents or proof to avoid losing this case.
I can't afford to lose $465 from a Seller's negligence!

OP3 years agoGreat and Helpful response! The seller has been acting suspicious since the beginning and has not been helpful at all.
I will definitely get something in writing in person and in email too since I opened a case online. Kinda pointless scam for a seller to do this if the buyer could just dispute the delivery. I’ll update you on what happens!
