Item lost or damaged?
Summary: d.b.m. expressed frustration over a seller cancelling an order after immediate payment by claiming the item was lost or damaged, only to relist the same item at a higher price. They believe this is a tactic to avoid using a reserve and are questioning whether eBay will enforce the original sale price as the item was clearly not lost or damaged.
I won an auction and made immediate payment. A few days later the seller cancelled order saying “item is lost or damaged”. Well, I’ll be damned, the same item with the same photos and by the same seller appears relisted, but of course with a higher starting price. This is obviously a way to get around not using a reserve. This is absolutely BS and wasting both my time and eBay’s time and resources. I am going to bid on this second item. Is eBay going make seller honor original selling price???? It obviously is not lost or damaged.

Mentor1 month agoDon't worry seller will find out ebay dinged his account and still charged him selling fees on the item. If he does this often he will have more problems with ebay.
