Item listed at $219.00 somehow sold for $30.00
So, confused how this happened. I did not send any offers, I did not receive any offers, But it some how sold for 85% off. Any ideas? Is there some weird setting I need to adjust? Some agreement I made with EBAY by accident??? Hacker? I have be selling for 15 years and never had something like this happen.

Mentor2 years agoThe Coach bag shows it sold for $219.00.
Where are you seeing that it sold for $30.00?

OP2 years agoRevised *People on here don't seem to be the nicest and contacting EBAY is nearly impossible, so here I am. So, before you accuse me of not knowing what I'm doing or making it up, here is a screenshot. I asked buyer how they if they knew how this happened, such as was it an emailed offer or what? No response.

Mentor2 years agoThanks for posting the screenshot.
I've not seen this happen before nor have I seen other reports here on the boards of this happening. I'm stumped...
You'll need to speak with eBay. Try this method to get a call back so you can speak directly with a rep:
At the link below, you can click Chat with our automated assistant. Scroll down the list of options that appear and click Have us call you.

Mentor2 years ago@inceptions I have read another thread similar to this, but it ended up being an offer that was accepted. It did not show on their sold page as a best offer just like this one. I posted about it on the mentor lounge if you want to see the original thread.

OP2 years agoI sent no offers on this in weeks. Offers are not valid for weeks on end.

OP2 years agoI have tried to call. There is no option for something like this. I have tried in past to use the assistant and it was not helpful. I had 3k, taken from my bank account on a purchase that had been cancelled. It took weeks to get my money back.
I think it was a scam of some sort, or I was hacked (I'm convinced my account has been hacked). If it was a real buyer, the definitely would have responded. It was a $380.00+ purse, already discounted to $219.99, they bought for it for $30 somehow. That would be a major score. As a buyer, I would want to know what happened. So, I'm convinced that the buyer lack off cooperation, is because they hacked my account. Ebay just wants our money and none if it goes to any kind of real customer service or seller protection.

I am sorry that happened and I don't have an answer.
My best guess:
If you accidentally had an "auto accept" amount of $30 in best offer, and the buyer sent an offer of $30, the purse would be sold without any email to you.
When items are sold for "Best Offer" they show in sales history as full price.
Terapeak will have the actual price, but it is a day or so delayed so I can't see what happened.
If you "sell similar" and then carefully look to see if there are any numbers in the best offer area, that can tell us if there was an auto accept there (somehow, accidentally, mysteriously)

I am just giving my best guesses as to how this can happen.

Here are some ways to get customer service:
A) Send a Private Message to either of these pages:
- twitter.com/askebay
- www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness <<== This is where I go when I need help. Just sent a private message to the page.
B) If you want a call back from eBay Customer Service, here is how to get a call:
Start at an article close to your question (you can look from here: https://www.ebay.com/help/home)
Scroll to the Bottom of the page similar to your question
1) Click "Contact Us" then:
In the CHAT WINDOW
2) Type "I need help"
3) Click "Selling" (or your topic)
4) Type "Agent" in the chat window
5) You may need to click "Something Else" or "More Options"
6) Click “Have Us Call You†(or "Chat with an Agent")
-- If you use a call filter on your phone, turn it off temporarily, or it might block the incoming call.
If you are going the facebook route, you can leave a message tonight.
If you want to call, try tomorrow.
I'm sorry that happened.

OP2 years agoThank you, sometimes I do use sell similar, not sure if I did on this one. I tried looking to see if that was the case, but I'm not I'm looking in the right spot. I have not sent offers out on this purse for weeks. I'm sure not using the sell similar option anymore if that is the case. That should not be something that automatically crosses over to the new listing. Thank you again.

Mentor2 years ago@thesilverpony I'm very sorry this happened.
✓ Offers definitely follow in "sell similar" from your own listing.
If you just make a DRAFT listing using sell similar from your listing, then you can see all the settings on that listing. It is a good way to look at everything from a sold listing of your own.
✓ You can check to see if your account is logged in anywhere else, here: https://signinalert.ebay.com/sgninalrt/sessions
Log out from any session you do not recognize (this is very, very important)
✓ You CAN get someone on the phone if you follow these steps and keep following them.
