Item listed as legitimate, turns out it is not
Summary: hammyhammy16 discovered that a makeup pouch they bought, advertised as a genuine Burberry, was identified as a fake by a resale store's vetting service. Despite contacting the seller and providing evidence, the seller deferred to eBay, but hammyhammy16 struggled to find a complaint submission option on the platform. disneyshopper advised that it is too late to get assistance from eBay or credit card protection.
I purchased a makeup pouch from a seller who claimed it was a legitimate Burberry item. Fast forward about one year (yes, I know, but keep reading before you judge). I took the pouch to a high-end resale store, whose policy it is to use a vetting service on luxury items. The pouch came back as not genuine, but a knockoff. I paid $98.96, and the cost of the verification report ($15). I contacted the seller, explained the situation, and said that I would not ever have paid that much money for a fake. I asked for a refund and said that I would be perfectly willing to write a review that stated when I found out the item was a fake, that he did everything to make the situation right. He requested a photo of the area used to determine that the item was not genuine, as well as the report, both of which I provided. He said he would leave it to eBay. Help please. I cannot find the section in this Web site where I can submit a complaint. There is an Ai chat-bot but that's it.

OP3 weeks agoThank you for responding. I suppose there is no place to write a short review? Are those limited to a timeframe as well?

Mentor3 weeks agoIt is too late for ebay to help you. You only had up to 30 days from receipt of the item to file a returns request for Item Not as Described. It is even too late to file with your credit card issuer if that is how you paid. Most will help within 180 days of the transaction.
