We are 30 year ebay sellers. We listed a pair of black chef and cook pie birds, which immediately got kicked off fore being offensive. They were listed under Collectables and Art with the title "Rare set of Antique American Black Memorabilia Ceramic Pie Bird Chef and Cook". They are not derogatory in the least, nothing in our verbiage was derogatory. We appealed and still got denied. I put the words "Black Americana" in quotes and there are over 14,000 active listings, some were also black figural pie birds!!! Many were derogatory, alligators eating black children, jokes about coons, watermelons, and chickens, off color remarks, old stereo types, etc.
I spoke to eBay today and got nothing but blah, blah, blah. The rep said its not allowed, so I told her to go look at the 14,000+ items on there right now. I'm going to relist again and drop the word black altogether. I have had a brick and mortar store for thirty years, people ask for pie birds at least three times a month. This is just ridiculous! Let's stop white washing history!!!

If you relist an item that has been removed by Ebay, it will get removed again and you may face sanctions on your selling account.
Just because there are other similar listings doesn't make it o.k. to sell. You can report other listings that violate Ebay policy.
