Item I shipped signed for yet buyer says not received

Hi there
trying to find information as to my liability for an item I sold and shipped with signature. It was signed for yet buyer said it wasn't him. I have been selling for decades but have never come across this issue! Am I liable? Anyone out there please give me advice as the chatbot is unhelpful to say the least and I cannot seem to get a live ebay agent any longer

Signature Required does not necessarily mean the actual buyer just someone available when the item is delivered so eBay will accept the signature as proof of delivery. The buyer would have to prove that you shipped the item to a totally different address than they provided on payment.
