Item doesn't fit, labeled for wrong vehicle. Return has been denied
Bought an Item a couple weeks ago. When I finally received them, I couldn't get them to fit properly. My wife was having surgery that week, but I filed a claim thinking it was an honest mistake on sellers' part. Well, today, my first day to look at them after one week of making the claim, I had my son look at the part to try and fit them again. Which they did not. However, my son noticed that they were marked specifically for a MK 7 GTI rather than the MK 6, which is clearly what I had ordered. I went to discuss this with the seller and the claim has been closed. It was one thing to think that the seller had made a mistake but then to find them ladled for the MK 7 rather than the MK 6. It has gotten to the point I don't want to buy on Ebay ever again. I have never had a problem like this before but the sales on here are looking shadier and shadier. I did reach out to the seller to see if he would honor the return, but I am almost certain that they won't. What is my recourse? It's one thing to have them not fit but quite another to have them labeled for another vehicle. How do I deal with this without pawning them off on Ebay and requesting the seller to follow through with the right thing?

Mentor11 months agoIf you processed your payment through Paypal, you can file a Return Request there, but you may have to pay the return shipping cost yourself.
Otherwise, you can try contacting the funding source you used to pay for the item to see if they can do something for you.
If you originally stated "item didn't fit" in your claim, the seller was able to decline your return request. The decision could not be changed when you discovered the discrepancy in the markings.
