Item did not arrive, what now?
I made a purchase on Nov 7th. A tracking number was added on Nov 8th and ever since has said "pre-shipment info sent USPS awaits item." The estimated date shown in eBay was Nov 14th. Shipping has never updated and package never arrived. Nov 16th I reached out to the seller for an update and I haven't heard anything. I finally decided to report the item as not received and when I do I get a message saying I am no longer covered by the eBay money back guarantee and to contact the seller. The sell will not respond to me, so what do I do now?? This has never happened to me before.

OP2 years agoThank you so much for all of the info! The purchase was about $90. If they try anything other than refund, I will definitely be taking one of the routes you mentioned.

OP2 years agoI finally heard from the seller this morning, they said that USPS lost/stole the package and asked how I wanted to resolve. I responded to them with my desired outcome, so fingers crossed. If not resolved, I will check back with the item number here. I truly appreciate all of your help!

Well, in 2016 there were 33 Postal Workers arrested on the west coast for stealing THOUSANDS of mail pieces so theft is not out of the question. What kind of money are we talking about here? eBay only allows claims for 30 days, PayPal allows them for 180 days from the date of purchase and credit cards allow charge backs. Hopefully the Seller will refund you in full without delay. If they have been told by USPS that the item was stolen then THEY can file the insurance claim on their end and Refund you immediately. If they delay you in anyway or advise you to file the insurance claim then consider the other options mentioned above.

Something doesn't sound right. If you are past the original estimated delivery and have not received the item then the "Have not received my item" claim should work for you to pursue a refund. You are within the 30 days for a claim on eBay.
