Item delivered to wrong address confirmed by USPS
I recently purchased an item 03-13284-76766 from seller Tianyunzhou. I tried reaching out to the seller who won't respond to my messages. I was trying verify who signed and to what address was on the package. I got No response! I made an appeal with Ebay and it was declined because a tracking number was sent. I have confirmed with USPS that the shipping address I provided does not match what is on the package with this tracking number. I used a business address so that the item can be collected. My freight collector has confirmed not receiving the package. USPS says that EBAY would have to contact the seller and asked them to verify the address 🙄. I have lost $700 on this order and I am asking if anyone can help me please ðŸ™

If tracking shows delivery, but nothing arrives, contact the shipping service to determine if the tracking corresponds to a delivery to your address.
If you can obtain hard copy documentation that the tracking does not correspond to a delivery to your address, contact eBay via social media and explain that you have a case of "false tracking" and you should be given the opportunity to provide your documentation to eBay via direct message. This is different than the usual "item not received" case which is handled automatically and which allows the seller to win by providing tracking that shows delivery.

You can avoid many issues entirely by choosing to only do business with experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering similar items as seen by examining the seller's feedback page, and by avoiding inexperienced sellers, sellers with patterns of negative feedback indicating serious problems, or sellers with large gaps in the selling history or recent drastic changes of seller behavior.

OP1 year agoUSPS says that they can't give me that information. They instructed that I would have to ask the seller to request that information and he is not responding. Is there any other way I can request a hard copy?

If you asked where the package was addressed, USPS will not reveal that for privacy reasons since you are not the sender or the recipient. But you do not need to know that. You just need something that says the address on the package is not your address. USPS can provide that without violating anyone's privacy.
It may help to go to the post office with a copy of your order details that shows both the tracking number that the seller provided and your shipping address.

OP1 year agoUSPS is refusing to give me a hard copy. Just verbal confirmation by phone because I am not the sender. They're telling me that I must contact the sender (Who refuses to respond to me) for the shipping confirmation. Is there any way to reopen a claim with Ebay and have them make the seller issue the confirmation of the address that they would have mail for me?

Some locations will apparently provide something on post office letterhead that says the tracking number is not connected to the shipping address of record. If you can get documentation, the rest of the process is relatively straightforward.
Alternatively, I have seen some folks suggest dealing with false tracking by filing a "not as described" return with eBay, since what was received ("nothing") does not match the original description. This forces the seller to provide for return shipping (of "nothing") and refund upon return of an empty box, or else to issue a refund directly. But I hesitate to actually suggest that.
