Item damged by UPS. Can not file a claim and buyer is asking for a refund.
I shipped a pair of speakers that were in perfect condition. UPS decided to toss these speakers around. Buyer sent me pictures of the box. They destroyed the speakers. How is it that when UPS breaks things, I need to file a return and eat the mess up? So not only do I lose money but I lose the speakers. Doesn't seem right.

Mentor2 years ago@drtymick1975 You will need photos of the box, the items, and the packing material. Ask the buyer to hold on to all items until your case is settled.
The buyer doesn't wait for the insurance payout if any. You issue the refund as soon as you have the photos.

OP2 years agoOk. But buyer now is saying they never received the shipment. They have sent me pictures of the damage and there is a record of delivery.

Mentor2 years ago@drtymick1975. That's odd.
Did they file a not received refund request? If so you can respond to the request with tracking that shows delivery and you win the case.
The buyer might have selected the wrong reason by mistake though. Keep in mind that they can file a credit card charge back even if you win the eBay case.
If it was me and the provided photos I requested and tracking shows delivery I'd go ahead and issue a refund.
